WARREN, NJ — As Warren braces for what could be the biggest snowstorm to hit the Garden State in a year, Mayor Michael "Mick" Marion said the township is ready.

Marion pointed to the Department of Public Works that work to keep the township's roads well maintained and clear. He added that Warren has also already activated certain parts of its Office of Emergency Management protocol in an effort to be well prepared.

Marion also asked that residents park their cars in driveways and off the roadways during the storm.

"As always, we ask our residents to try and avoid parking on the roads so the crews and get through and be as efficient as possible with salting and plowing," said Marion. "This is all the more important should any of our Police or First Responders be needed in emergency situations."

AccuWeather went so far as to say that the Wednesday storm could produce "blizzard" conditions, calling it the "next major winter storm for the United States" that will bring "a large swath of drenching rain, deep snow and perhaps even a thick glaze of ice for some."

Forecasters are becoming increasingly confident that the storm will intensify and produce a swath of particularly heavy snow that will clog roads and cause difficult travel, according to AccuWeather.
