Warren Librarian Honored For Special Needs Programs
Programs for adults with developmental disabilities include bingo, yoga, jewelry making, music, dancing, gardening and more.
WARREN, NJ — Warren Township honored Adult Services Librarian, Catherine DeBerry, with a Certificate of Recognition and Proclamation in recognition of the special needs programs offered to residents in the community.
Warren Township Mayor, Carolann Garafola, presented the proclimation during the Tuesday night meeting.
Under the direction of DeBerry, the Warren Library began offering programs for adults with developmental disabilities in September 2016, and has offered more than half a dozen programs, including bingo, yoga, jewelry making, music, dancing, gardening and more.

These programs were offered in order to encourage socialization, and provide these residents with an opportunity to meet new people while enjoying new activities and learning necessary life skills.
"I commend the Warren Township Library for their love and devotion to these children and adults who are thriving in these programs where they feel understood, accepted and fulfilled," Garafola said.

The library expects to expand these programs in 2018.
