WARREN, NJ — Alex Strasser of Warren was among three 4-H members to be chosen as the 2019 Outstanding 4-H'ers of Somerset County.

Strasser and his family have always attended the 4-H Fair since he was a little kid where he loved watching the robots.

Once old enough he joined the 4-H robotics club where he became a teen mentor and trainer to the younger members. He now co-leads the 4-H Fair challenge for the robotics division and is an overnight herdsman at the fair.

Strasser came up with the idea of using QR codes to unlock the scavenger hunt hints around the fair. Strasser focused on coding and getting approved by Apple and Google, while others on the team focused on design, funding and more.
