Warren Local Selling Car On eBay, Out 5K In Theft

Warren Police also reported making multiple arrests for marijuana possession and driving under the influence.

WARREN, NJ — A Warren resident who was selling a car on eBay is now out $5,000 in a theft, police report.

On Monday, Aug. 5 a Darkwood Court resident reported someone sent them a bank check for $5,000 more than the purchase price of the car they were selling online. They then wired the extra $5,000 to a Bank of America account, Warren Police report.

The resident has since learned they were the victim of a theft, police said.

On Aug. 6 at 11:28 p.m.: Cedric Moore, 34, of Orange and Tajuan Myles, 37, of Newark were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams following a traffic stop. They were then taken to headquarters, processed and released.

On Aug. 7 at 10:55 p.m.: William P. Brown, 52, of Basking Ridge was arrested and charged with driving under the influence(DUI) and possession of marijuana under 50 grams following a traffic stop. His vehicle was towed and he was taken to headquarters for processing.
