WARREN, NJ — Warren native and musician Michael Arrom produced nearly all of the music for ABC's "Schoolhouse Rock! 50th Anniversary Singalong" airing Wednesday night.

"We’re delighted that Michael’s work is now part of a half-century-long cultural tradition. We recall seeing the series debut back in 1973. Neither of us could have ever imagined that we would one day have a child contributing to the series," said Arrom's father Carlos.

The special performance will be hosted by television host Ryan Seacrest, airing Feb. 1 from 8 to 9 p.m. EST on ABC. It will also stream the next day on Hulu and at a later date on Disney+.

Arrom's musical career started at the young age of five years old when he used to play on his grandmother's piano in her house, according to Carlos Arrom.

Arrom attended Mt. Horeb School and the Middle School in Warren before attending Pingry for his high school years. Throughout his school years he continued his musical passion.

His career really took off when Arrom was 18 years old and he was invited to play with Keith Urban at the Country Music Awards. He later moved to Los Angeles to "follow his dream," Carlos said.

Arrom is currently a member of the recording academy. He previously attended the Grammys last year for his 4th time.

He performed at the United States White House last Spring for the annual Easter Egg Roll and he recently worked for Diane Warren on an orchestral arrangement of her Oscar-nominated song, "Applause," according to Carlos.

In January 2020, Arrom performed with American actress and singer Sofia Carson on Good Morning America on Wednesday. Carson performed her new single "I Luv U." Read More: Warren Native Performs On Good Morning America With Sofia Carson

"Pay attention at the next Warren Middle School band concert, you never know who you might see again a few years later," said Carlos.
