Police recognized that the man had overdosed on heroin and used Naloxone (Narcan) — which is a medication that reverses opiate overdoses and in most cases revives the victim.

After two Narcan treatments were used, the man was revived and transported by Atlantic Ambulance EMS-8 along with Medic Unit 12 to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset, Somerville for further evaluation.
