Warren Police Remind Locals To Lock Cars, Remove Keys

Numerous motor vehicle thefts and burglaries are being reported in and around Warren over the past several months, police report.

WARREN, NJ — In response to numerous motor vehicle thefts and burglaries being reported in and around Warren, police are reminding residents to lock all vehicles left outside and to bring all keys for the vehicles inside the home.

"Don’t give these offenders any opportunity to make you a victim!" Warren Township Police Department posted.

Two incidents of burglary and theft from a vehicle were reported in Warren in October including the theft of an unlocked 2015 Porsche on Oct. 8 and a theft from a vehicle on Mountain View Road on Oct. 12.

Most of the thefts and burglaries are being reported throughout the county and surrounding counties along the Interstate 78 corridor as well as various locations in northern New Jersey.

"These incidents predominately occur overnight while the vehicle is parked in the driveway of a residence, unlocked with the key/fob left inside the vehicle," police report.
