Warren Police To Sport Special Hats, Magnets For Autism Awareness Month

WARREN, NJ — In support of Autism Awareness Month, the Warren Township Police Officers will wear special edition hats and magnets on all patrol vehicles throughout April.

Both the hats and magnets depict the Warren Township Police Autism patch that was spurred last year by Officer Victoria Ciampa.

On Wednesday, March 30, officers met the residents of Mt. Bethel Village at their Day Program at 67 Mountain Blvd., Warren.

Officers were given a tour of the facility by the residents who then presented them with
autism awareness tee shirts they personally designed.

"We feel it’s important to continue to bring Autism Awareness to our residents, especially since Warren Township is home to various facilities and schools that regularly interact with this community on a day-to-day basis," said Chief William Keane.

Additionally, throughout April and beyond, officers will be conducting random walkthroughs at the Morris Union Jointure Commission Developmental Learning Center in an effort to build a comfortable relationship with the students, outside our normal course of duties.

Residents and locals are asked to visit the police department's website warrenpolice.com or.autismhc.org to donate to the Autism Healthcare Collaborative located in Warren Township.
