Warren School Referendum: When, Where To Vote

Here is everything you need to know about the Warren Schools $8.9 million bond referendum that is up for vote Tuesday, Dec. 14 until 8 p.m.

WARREN, NJ — A $8.09 million bond referendum for capital improvements to maintain school facilities in Warren, which will have a $0 tax impact on residents, is up for a vote on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

POLLS: Polls will be open between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.

POLLING LOCATIONS: In anticipation of weather issues for this time of year, the township has eliminated the Pilgrim Church and the Community Volunteer Fire House as polling locations.

Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6,7, 8, 9, and 10 will vote at the Stonecrest Community Church, 11 Technology Drive. (The polling location is in the back of the Church, drive around to the back parking lot.)
Districts 5, 11, 12 and 13 will vote at the Warren Municipal Court/Meeting Room, 44 Mountain Blvd., Warren Municipal Complex.

WHAT: The total anticipated cost of the referendum is $8.9 million. A total of 34 percent would be covered by the state when the district receives $3.05 million in anticipated state debt service aid. The rest, $5.9 million, would be covered from the district's capital reserve.

"The district has been methodically saving for such needs through its capital reserve fund for several years," the district stated.

With the combination of the district's capital reserves and this state aid, there would be zero tax impact as a result of this referendum.

Specifically, the capital projects included in the referendum include:

  • LED Light Fixture Upgrade
  • HVAC Replacement at Both Gymnasiums
  • Upgrades to Original Science Labs
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

Mt. Horeb School

  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

Woodland School

  • Boiler Replacement
  • HVAC Replacement at Gymnasium

Central School

  • HVAC & Boiler/Pumps Replacement
  • HVAC Upgrades
  • Interior Door Replacement
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades

Angelo L. Tomaso School

  • Partial Window Replacement
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades
  • Security Vestibule
  • Fire Alarm Upgrades
