Warren Schools $6.5M Referendum: Where, When To Vote

Here is everything you need to know about the Warren Schools $6.5 million bond referendum including when and where to vote.

WARREN, NJ — A $6.5 million bond referendum to provide upgrades to the Warren Township Public Schools will go up for a vote on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The referendum will have a $0 tax impact on residents, the district stated.

Voting will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here are a list of consolidated polling locations:

  • CSD 01-(DIST 2,4): Our Lady of the Mount Parish Center, 167 Mount Bethel Rd.
  • CSD 02-(DIST 1,3): Mount Horeb United Methodist Church, Codington Hall, 42 Liberty Corner Rd.
  • CSD 03-(DIST 5,13): Our Lady of the Mount Parish Center, 167 Mount Bethel Rd.
  • CSD 04-(DIST 6,10): Our Lady of the Mount Parish Center, 167 Mount Bethel Rd.
  • CSD 05-(DIST 7, 8): Our Lady of the Mount Parish Center, 167 Mount Bethel Rd.
  • CSD 06-(DIST 9): Our Lady of the Mount Parish Center, 167 Mount Bethel Rd.
  • CSD 07-(DIST 11,12): Stone Crest Community Church, 11 Technology Dr.

The referendum is due to the district's need of "capital improvements to maintain school facilities and provide for the health and safety of students and staff," according to Warren Township Schools.

The total anticipated cost of the referendum is $6.5 million. A total of 34 percent would be covered from the state when the district receives $2.21 million in anticipated state debt service aid. The rest, $4.2 million, would be covered from the district's capital reserve.

"The district has been methodically saving for such needs through its capital reserve fund for several years," the district stated.

With the combination of the district’s capital reserves and this state aid, there would be zero tax impact as a result of this referendum.

Specifically, the capital projects included in the referendum are:

Angelo L. Tomaso School

  • Boiler and Pumps Replacement
  • Partial Building HVAC Upgrade

Central School

  • Partial Window Replacement
  • Partial Building HVAC Upgrade

Mt. Horeb School

  • Boiler and Pumps Replacement

Warren Middle School

  • Boiler and Pumps Replacement
  • Partial Roof Replacement
