WARREN, NJ — The filing deadline to run for school board was Monday. Here's who filed petitions to run for school board in the Warren Township School District.
Only one person is vying for the three, three-year seats up for grabs for the Warren Township Schools K-8 District this upcoming election on Nov. 5. Additionally three people are running for the two three-year Warren seats for the Watchung Hills Regional School District

There are a few things that could happen when there are fewer candidates than there are board of education seats available.
Write-in votes are accepted. The person with the highest number of write-in votes is offered the position as long as that person is a qualified candidate. If the person elected doesn't want to serve, the county superintendent will appoint someone.
If there is a tie among the write-in candidates, a special election is called among the write-in candidates.
If there are is a vacancy and no write-in candidates, the county superintendent will make an appointment to fill the vacancy.
