Warren Township Schools Participated In Hour Of Code

Warren Township schools participated in Hour of Code, along with thousands of schools throughout the world, during the week of December 8, 2014.

Students in all grades had the opportunity to learn programming skills and language as they completed activities during either Computer classes or Innovation & Design classes. No matter what careers students will pursue in the future, knowledge of computer programming and technology will be an important part of their success and early exposure to these concepts will demystify computer programming, engage students, and propel them to want to learn more.

Computer coding supports the following key 21st century learning skills: creativity, collaboration, communication, persistence, and problem solving. The curriculum developed by code.org, along with other organizations, exposes children to the field of computer programming in a challenging and fun format.

In its second year, Hour of Code aimed to reach 100 million students worldwide. REACH and Technology teachers in Warren Township are proud to have participated in this educational enrichment opportunity!
