Warren Woman Remains In Coma 1 Month After Hit By Alleged 'Drunk Driver': GoFundMe
A fundraiser was started for Lori Engler of Warren who was hospitalized last month with a severe traumatic brain injury after the crash.

WARREN, NJ — It's been exactly one month since Warren resident Lori Engler was hospitalized after being T-boned "by what is believed to be a drunk driver," according to a GoFundMe page.
Engler was visiting friends in Pittsburgh when she was involved in the crash with three other friends in the car.

Engler was rushed to the hospital with a severe traumatic brain injury in critical condition. Over the last few weeks, she has made tiny steps forward, however, she still remains in an uninduced coma.
"The future and what it looks like is still mostly unknown," according to the GoFundMe page, started by Engler's sister's friend Katie Winter.

Engler went to Angelo L. Tomaso Elementary School, Warren Middle School and Watchung Hills Regional High School where she graduated in 2016.
Engler's sister and parents moved from New Jersey down to Pittsburgh so they can take shifts by her hospital bed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. They have been reading to her, telling stories, calling her name to her, anything and everything they can to stimulate her brain's activity and encourage her to wake up.
The family has all taken a step back from their jobs in order to give Engler every shot she has to wake up and fully recover from this tragedy, said Winter.
"I have started this GoFundMe to at the very least take away some of the financial stress of this horrible nightmare," said Winter.
The donations raised through the GoFundMe will go towards the following items to help support the Engler family:
- Lori's medical and rehabilitation expenses
- Assistance with expenses and misc. bills for Lori and her family due to loss of wages (Juliana and her parents have all lost income in order to be part of Lori's recovery plan)
- Travel and meal expenses for the family during their time to/at the hospital and rehabilitation center
- Any remodeling to the Engler home when Lori comes home. She will need to be on the first floor of the home and most likely will need special accommodations
- All additional unforeseen expenses that Lori, Juliana and their parents will need to cover during Lori's recovery time
Since the fundraiser was started last week, it has already raised more than $27,000.
"Today is one month since the accident and Lori is still in a coma. The support from everyone means so much to the family," said Winter.
