GREEN BROOK, NJ — Washington Rock State Park will be closed through the 4th of July weekend due to coronavirus precautions. The park will reopen on Monday at 8 a.m., the Somerset County Park Commission announced.

"Due to the absence of community fireworks celebrating Independence Day and Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders limiting crowd size and recommending social distancing to protect the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, the determination was made to close the park for the weekend," the commission stated.

Local and Somerset County authorities will be enforcing the closure at the park off Washington Avenue in Green Brook.
