Watchung Hills Pays Teachers The Most In Somerset County
See how Warren Township Schools ranked in a state listing showing the median teacher's salary in every school district for 2018-19.

WARREN, NJ — The state has released information that shows how much your school district or charter school will pay teachers in the 2018-19 school year, and Watchung Hills Regional High School tops the list in Somerset County.
The regional school district, which encompasses Warren, Watchung, Green Brook and Long Hills, pays teachers a median salary of $79,270. This is the highest median amount paid in Somerset County and 52nd highest in the state.
Warren Township took the second highest spot in the count with $77,725 and number 64 overall in the state. While Watchung came in at number 12 with $64,720 and number 313 in the state. Green Brook Township was number 18 in the county with $57,605 and number 499 in the state.

Northern Valley Regional in Bergen County takes the ultimate top spot in the Garden State with a median salary of $108,867. The lowest salary median in the state was Classical Academy Charter School in Passaic County which came in at No. 659 with $42,000.
The information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending, which shows the median salary in every New Jersey school district and charter school. Overall, 273 school districts make more than the state median of $66,150. And it's not just the big towns or the regional districts that pay the most: Indeed, Brigantine is a great place to get a teaching job, where the median salary is $93,275.

In addition to median salaries, the site also shows each district's total spending, average daily enrollment and students from sending districts, the per-pupil costs and the district's total budget spending for 2017 and 2018.
