Watchung Residents show Support for a New Community Center/Library

Watchung residents gathered today to pay the average household's weekly share of $1.30 into the Watchung Community Foundation Library fund.  This payment signifies each household's weekly share for a new Community Center/Library.  Residents hope the Watchung Town Council's July 17 vote will say yes to a new community center/library reflecting a long-term community-oriented vision for the town.  Residents state many reasons for wanting to keep a library in their town including enriching education, circulation of a variety of materials (books, ebooks, music, movies), community involvement and increasing property values.  As the library with the largest per capita circulation in Somerset County (almost 90,000 materials in 2013) and award-winning programs, Watchung Library is highly valued among borough residents.
