Throughout the month of November, all Woodland School 5th grade students took part in a service project for Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia, by collecting new books and board games.

Patients at Shriners Hospital can often wait an excessive amount of time, even up to eight hours, for an appointment with their specialist.

These books and board games will surely bring smiles to patients and families in the waiting room area. In total, almost 350 items were donated.

As one student remarked in a card for a patient they will never formally meet, “Love is the medicine to sickness!”

Thank you to the Woodland 5th grade and their families for supporting this endeavor and for demonstrating kindness and support for those in our communities who need it most!
