Woodland School second graders have been engaged in life science lessons through their studies focusing on the life cycle of a butterfly. In early September, young scientists in the classes of Christina Beekman, Diane Bell, and Christine Rzasa received caterpillars and were amazed at the rapid changes from one stage to the next.
The students gathered information, recorded observations, and reported progress daily. In addition to reading non-fiction and fiction text, they also researched on the computer and shared information in discussion groups at school and with family members at home.
