Zimmer Pre-K Welcomes Autumn!

To celebrate the arrival of Autumn, the Pre-K class walked through the woods down to the Passaic River. We strive to provide children with an intimate look at the interactive relationships in nature and sensory experiences with our environment. A direct relationship with nature allows us to experience the interconnectedness of all living things and develop a sharper perspective regarding the effect our actions, or in-actions have on our environment. We used our senses to observe signs of the seasons changing. We saw leaves turning from green to red, yellow, and orange, heard them crunching under our feet, and felt how they are becoming dry now that they have fallen. As the months grow colder, we will research ways that we can help the animals in our environment get through the winter.
