16-Year-Old Somerset County Resident Charged With Reckless Manslaughter
A 16-year-old Somerset County resident has been charged with reckless manslaughter after the boy he hit during an argument died on Monday.
A 16-year-old Hillsborough resident has been charged with reckless manslaughter after the 17-year-old boy he hit during an argument died on Monday.
According to a release from the Somerset County Prosector’s Office, Hillsborough first responders showed up to a call on Orchard Drive around 5 p.m. on Saturday and found Jared Colon, 17, suffering from a head injury.
He was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for medical treatment where he passed away three days later.

Colon’s injuries were sustained after he was punched in the head by 16-year-old “S.M” during a verbal argument, according to the release.
“S.M.” is currently lodged in the Middlesex County Juvenile Dention Center and has been charged with second degree Reckless Manslaughter.
