4 Shoplifters Arrested In Watchung

Four people were arrested for shoplifting merchandise from Watchung stores last week, Watchung police report.

WATCHUNG, NJ — Four people were arrested for shoplifting merchandise from Watchung stores last week, police report.

Watchung Police Blotter:

On Dec. 12 at 7:53 a.m.: Walmart on Route 22 West reported a shoplifter fled from the store with merchandise. The suspect was described as a 6'2" black male weighing approximately 230 pounds wearing blue jeans and a black coat. The suspect removed a 43" HDTV from the store valued at $298.

On Dec. 17 at 4:21 p.m.: Morris Woods, 36, of Plainfield was arrested at ShopRite in the Blue Star Mall for having an outstanding warrant out of Plainfield for $126. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting bail.

On Dec. 17 at 11:22 a.m.: Gleuris Acosta, 34, of Newark was arrested for having four outstanding warrants out of North Bergen for $550, Harrison for $500, Newark for $500 and Newark for $250 following a traffic stop on Somerset Street for having a cracked windshield. She was transported to headquarters, processed, posted bail on one warrant released on the remaining warrants.

On Dec. 17 at 7:56 p.m.: Victoria Bolles, 21, of North Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting $107.76 worth of unpaid merchandise from Target on Route 22 West. A Loss Prevention Associate saw Bolles trying to leave the store with multiple phone cases and cosmetics inside her purse. She was charged with shoplifting and released with a court date.

On Dec. 14 at 10:15 p.m.: Kent Yancey, 54, of Plainfield was arrested for having a warrant out of Watchung for $2,053 following a traffic stop on Route 22 West. He was transported to headquarters, processed and posted $500 towards the bail and released.

On Dec. 13 at 4:46 p.m.: Marshall Mclean, 19, of Plainfield was seen by a Walmart Loss Prevention Associate taking five Xbox 1 games and six Playstation 4 video games off a display rack and concealing them in the front and rear of his pants. He tried to leave the store without paying for the merchandise worth a total of $212.16. He was charged with shoplifting. Mclean was also found to have a warrant out of Watchung for $500 and Plainfield for $443. He was unable to post bail and lodged in Somerset County Jail.

On Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.: Jesus Salgado, 19, of Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen by a Target Loss Prevention Associate taking six lighters and one iPhone case and hiding them in his front pants pockets. The merchandise was worth $23.19. He was also found to have an active warrant out of Plainfield for $250. He was processed and released after posting cash bail.

On Dec. 13 at 7:59 p.m.: Damaris Garcia, 19, of North Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting $39.98 worth of merchandise from Target. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released with a court date.

On Dec. 13 at 1:56 p.m.: Jamar Baker, 23, of Plainfield was arrested at Middlesex County Jail on a Watchung warrant for $500. He was transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.

On Dec. 11 at 9:26 p.m.: Jamael Davis, 39, of Plainfield was arrested for possession of controlled dangerous substance(CDS) under 50 grams. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on a summonses.

On Dec. 12 at 7:10 p.m.: Angelina Smith, 27, of Elizabeth was arrested on at Kean University for an active warrant out of Watchung for $500. She was transported to Somerset County Jail after not being unable to post bail.

On Dec. 11 at 9:26 p.m.: Cora Casey, 43, of South Bound Brook was arrested for possession of CDS under 50 grams. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released on a summonses.
