WATCHUNG, NJ — A young Watchung resident is collecting pet supplies for animals in need, and the borough is encouraging the community to help before the Oct. 31 deadline.
The Borough of Watchung announced its support for the resident's mitzvah project ahead of his upcoming Bar Mitzvah.
Donations will benefit the St. Hubert Animal Welfare Center.
Requested items include towels, blankets, pet food, treats, toys and other quality goods. Used dog beds will not be accepted.
Residents can drop off donations at 760 Valley Road or Borough Hall.
The borough praised the young resident for giving back to the community and encouraged others to support his project.
"We're proud to support a young member of our community who is giving back and making a positive difference," the borough said.
