Artist Susan Dreifuss present "Grey Area" at the Watchung Arts Center

Print Maker and Painter has exhibit in Lower Gallery in November.

Susan Dreifuss is an avid print maker and painter whose work has been featured in exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. Susan’s work will be on display in the Lower Gallery of the Watchung Arts Center during the month of November, in a show entitled “Grey Area”. There will be an opening reception on Sunday, November 8 from 1 to 4 PM.
Susan says of this exhibit, “In protest of technology’s alteration of the human experience, I chose to fully participate and immerse myself in each moment; embracing the experience while in the ether, hovering in a self-proclaimed “grey area.” As a result, I aim to bring permanence to different aspects of each piece through juxtaposition; searching and finding, absence and presence, logic and forgetfulness, veiling and revealing. I have embraced the challenge of exploring a literal “grey” area, as the lack of color has allowed me to explore realms of dimension, texture and negative space. It is my goal with this collection of work to represent a true and courageous documentation of my experience being “neither here nor there.”
Her work has been shown at Hunterdon Art Museum, is a part of the Hobart and William Smith permanent collection and has been featured in group and solo exhibitions throughout Manhattan.
Upon receiving her MFA from Pratt Institute in 2010, Susan went on to found a home textile business. Her printed textiles were featured on Fox News, at Pratt Legends Benefit, as well as in Apartment Therapy, Philadelphia Magazine and a variety of other news outlets.
Susan’s most current textile work is as co-creator of Opus X NYC, a lifestyle brand with the design-savvy urbanite in mind. Based in New York City, their products are currently being sold throughout Manhattan and at the Brooklyn Museum. Her experience with textiles and design can be seen as a visible influence in her current body of work.
