Authorities ID Woman Hit By Raritan Valley Train

The woman was hit by a Raritan Valley Line train​ on Sunday near the Dunellen station.

DUNELLEN, NJ — Authorities have identified the pedestrian hit by a Raritan Valley Line train on Sunday near the Dunellen station.

The victim was identified as Karen Calles-Flores, 19, of Middlesex.

The Raritan Valley train 5524 left Raritan and was on its way to Cranford when the Calles-Flores was hit near the Dunellen station at 3:45 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman James Smith said.

A total of 50 customers and crew were on board the train during the incident and were uninjured, Smith said.

The train line was suspended between Bound Brook and Plainfield due to the trespasser fatality and reopened around 8 p.m. Sunday night.
