Auto Mall Gets Police Help Collecting Bill
Vehicle owner promises to act fast after dealership complains.

A longstanding dispute between 's service department and a Piscataway man who says the $1,551 of work done on his van weren't done properly may have been quickly cleared up last week, with help from Green Brook police.
Police say a manager from the dealership reported July 3 that a van brought in for repairs in December had disappeared in February—the dealership suspected the owner had taken the vehicle to avoid the charges, but efforts to reach him had failed. The dealership was seeking information on filing a complaint.
Police reached out to the vehicle's owner, who promptly admitted to having taken the vehicle—and offered to pay the full bill on July 6, before trying to resolve his problem with the work that was done with the dealership.
