Brook Hill Dolphins Set Records

's Swim team the Dolphins closed out its season in July with a successful season and many individual achievements.

The Dolphins, consisting of 50 athletes from 29 families, won the dual meet season in the white division of the New Jersey Swimming and Diving Conference with a record of 7-1.  

The club, serving the surrounding communities for over 50 years, went undefeated in 2003 and the 2012 team has been the most successful since that time.  They also received third in league championships.  

Brook Hill was bested by teams with double the number of swimmers while Brook Hill had more event winners than any other team present. 

Amazing swims at championships gathered medals for our younger swimmers. Tommy Morris (7) got a fifth place medal in a 13-18 relay swimming against kids more than twice his age and three times his size. Chris Gannon (10) anchored another 13-18 boys relay and lead them to victory!

A total of four pool records broken this year at Brookhill; Evan Riddell (14) and Kayla Purcell (13) each broke two records. Evan broke the boys 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke records while Kayla broke the 50 and 100 freestyle records.

We had 26 swimmers qualify for the Conference Championship meet and 24 of them went on to compete. This number of swimmers attending championships tripled from last year. In additional, eight swimmers made to finals with Evan Riddell winning the 100 backstroke and a time 59.75.

Coach Jason Riddell said "I am really proud of the team this year. Not only did we have the best swim season since 2003, but we also had a lot of fun along the way! We may not have been the biggest team, but we certainly were the most spirited, focused, and energetic team. Go Brookhill!"
