DAR Chapter America 250 Meeting

This special meeting of Elizabeth Snyder-Continental Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is to coordinate chapter participation in upcoming America 250 events and activities.   

Over the summer months, chapter members and prospective members can get involved in a variety of activities to celebrate the Semiquincentennial.

The chapter will be setting up an America 250 display and exhibit for the month of June at the Ted Blum 4-H Center of Somerset County, 310 Milltown Road in Bridgewater.

In July, there will be a chapter outing to see the new film, “Young Washington.”

The chapter will be gifting a new American flag and stand to the Somerset County 4-H Association at the Somerset County 4-H Fair, August 5-7, in North Branch Park, Bridgewater. The chapter will also be presenting two DAR Youth Leadership Awards to 4-H members and Junior American Citizen awards to the 25 members of the 4-H Senior Council.

Then on August 15, the chapter will participate in the Somerset Patriots’ Revolutionary Revelry Night at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater.

The DAR is a nonprofit, non-political service organization open to women 18 and over who are descended from a man or woman who aided American independence during the Revolutionary War. The mission of the DAR is to promote education, historic preservation and patriotism.
