4-H Science-sational Day is a day of interactive science workshops from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for children in grades K-6 presented by the Somerset County 4-H Youth Development Program. Children do not need to be 4-H members to participate. Using a “Learn By Doing” approach, youth engage in hands-on activities to learn about a variety of science topics.
Participants will explore biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, technology, and more. Possible activities include roller coaster design challenges, robotics and AI, DNA molecular matching, salt paintings, the science behind magic, catapults, and archery. Workshop offerings vary by age group, and participants will be assigned age-appropriate sessions throughout the day.
The cost is $25 for 4-H members and $35 for non-members. The registration deadline is November 18 and space is limited.
4-H is the youth development program of our nation’s Cooperative Extension System and offers hands-on, learn-by-doing opportunities in agriculture, STEM, health, civic engagement, and the arts. Membership is open to youth from kindergarten to one-year out of high school. With nearly six million members, 4-H grows confident young people who are empowered for life today and prepared for careers tomorrow. To learn more about Somerset County 4-H, visit 4HisTops.org.
