Cancer Support Community to Host Survivorship Program for Cancer Patients

6 Week Program Focuses on Those Who Have Completed Active Treatment

Bedminster, NJ, August 6, 2014 – Cancer Support Community Central New Jersey will be hosting three upcoming Cancer Transitions series at three locations for any adult who has completed active treatment for any type of cancer. The series is free of charge, like all CSCCNJ programs, but does require registration by calling CSCCNJ at (908) 658-5400.

The three series will be:
• Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights
o Thursday evenings from September 4 – October 9
• Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick
o Thursday evenings from October 2 – November 6
• University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro
o Wednesday evenings from October 1 – November 5
The goal of the program is to empower cancer survivors to take an active role in their recovery and bridge the gap between treatment and life following cancer.

One former Cancer Transitions participant commented: “I appreciated the acceptance of the group and the knowledge gained by meeting and connecting with other cancer survivors. I gained support and friendship from others who are in the same boat by having a place where I could talk about my fears and meet others like me.”
