Car Crashes, Goes Airborne Results In DWI Arrest In Green Brook
Route 22 in Green Brook was shut down in both directions early Monday morning following a DWI crash, police report.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — A Plainfield man was arrested and charged him with driving while intoxicated following a crash that shut down Route 22 in Green Brook early Monday morning.
Eugene Claritt Jr., 26, of Plainfield was driving a 2008 Saturn Aura on Route 22 east in Green Brook at around 2:30 a.m. when he crashed into the center concrete median barrier at the intersection Washington Avenue, said Lt. Hans Case.
The car became airborne, striking and damaging a traffic light pole, then landed and rolled over onto the eastbound lane of Route 22, Case said.

As a result Route 22 was closed in both directions.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and there were no other passengers in Claritt Jr.'s car.

Claritt Jr. suffered minor injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerset, where he was treated and released.
