Empty Retail Space Ready for Next Tenant
But what business would fit best in this Green Brook location?
Green Brook is awash in empty storefronts that formerly housed furniture stores—a location on Route 22 that had been used by as a discount mattress and furniture store recently joined the list, as the owners of the store vacated the premises.
Furniture is a tough business—recessions wreak havoc on the industry—and having large chain stores, like the nearby Value City and Bassett Furniture stores, add to the challenges.
This location, between the Hudson Savings Bank and Bobcat of Central Jersey, looks like it may have been a family-owned furniture store at one time, perhaps a smaller, local department store. It has a small second floor, with offices and terrific roadside exposure.

Ideally, a new tenant could take advantage of the store's design, using the window space to display goods—or showcase the activity inside.
So what kind of business is best suited for a location like this? A tony new restaurant, perhaps? Or a preschool with a second-floor play area for passers-by to enjoy?
