After returning to the United States, he went back to work as an attorney for a large defense firm in New Brunswick. However, in 2001, he decided to switch careers and return to teaching. He taught 8th grade English at PS #34 in Jersey City for 5 years and then arrived at Watchung Hills Regional High School. Mr. Porter teaches American Literature to juniors, creative writing, and the SAT prep course. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Watchung Hills Regional Education Association.
