Christopher Lin also received the trophy for winning the very challenging Countdown Round. Additionally, Sweepstakes trophies are presented to the highest scoring 4-person teams. Of 7 competing 7th and 8th grade teams, Far Hills teams took 2 of the top 3 spots. The team of Zaiser, Scordley, Lin, and Ross placed 3rd; the team of Gajewski, Agathis, Scotto, and Martin brought home the 2nd place trophy.

According to Dr. Janna Smith, Far Hills Certified Math Specialist, “Our students shone at team problem-solving which is a true measure of mathematical thinking and cooperative work. Not only did these students represent our school well, both in their academic performance and in their behavior, but many of them were on the very first 4th grade team we took to a contest, and they continue to amaze me with their leadership and perseverence.”
