Green Brook Resident To Attend Boston College

Gillian Lawlor of Green Brook graduated from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit and will attend Boston College in the fall.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — A Green Brook resident was among the 67 students to graduate from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit during its 89th commencement ceremony on June 11.

The graduates kept with school tradition and donned white gowns and gloves, and carried peach roses.

Lawlor, a “lifer” at Oak Knoll after attending the coed elementary school from kindergarten through grade 6 and then the all-girls middle/high school from grades 7-12, was recruited to Boston College’s Division 1 fencing team.

She was captain of the varsity fencing team at Oak Knoll and earned four varsity letters throughout her tenure. She was named the Most Valuable Player as both a junior and senior, named the Union County Athlete of the Week on Jan. 29 and named First Team all-Union County as a junior and senior. She also serves on the Executive Board of New Jersey Fencing Alliance.

Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, independent school, coeducational from kindergarten to grade 6 and for girls in grades 7 to 12.
