Green Brook Set for Clean (Street) Sweeps

Deal between Green Brook and North Plainfield enables street cleaning.

Beginning on Monday, Green Brook residents may see an Elgin street sweeper form the Borough of North Plainfield working its way through township streets.Ā

Under an agreement between the municipalities, North Plainfield will sweep Green Brook’s streets twice a year, with the township paying for theĀ disposal of the waste collected. Green Brook will also provide a crew to follow the sweeper to pick up any debris that was missed. Ā

"This is the sort of sharing and cooperation that is being promoted in Trenton, and for good reason, we are neighbors after all," North Plainfield Mayor Mike Giordano, who gave the initial green light for the shared arrangement, said.
