Lance Visits L & Z Tool & Engineering In Watchung

Spends Manufacturing Day Highlighting Garden State Innovation

WESTFIELD, N.J. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07), Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, kicked off National Manufacturing Day with a tour of L & Z Tool & Engineering in Watchung. L & Z Tool and Engineering, Inc. is a third generation New Jersey company that specializes in engineering and creating plastic molds and dies for the auto, medical, defense, power tool, service goods, toys, house ware, pet supply and other industries. They are located on Rt. 22 in Watchung.

“L & Z prides itself on hard-work, dedicated personnel and continuing to evolve with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and diversity of projects,” said Lance, on the first stop of his Manufacturing Day tour. “I am honored to represent this Made-in-America and New Jersey brand and will continue to work to level the playing field against foreign competitors to keep these good jobs and great ideas in the U.S.”

Tom La Marca, President and CEO of the company added, “L & Z represents a culmination of the American Dream. It’s founder was an immigrant arriving on the shores of America at eight years old and put immediately to work. Lance sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and serves as Vice Chair of its Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade Subcommittee. The lawmaker has visited many small businesses in the Seventh Congressional District to learn how Washington can help incentivize innovation, eliminate red-tape and boost job creation. During Manufacturing Day, Lance is focusing on how to empower American-made brands to compete against global competitors and how best to keep American jobs and creativity in the U.S. Lance has brought the ideas and suggestions of these constituencies back to Washington to help craft policy and pass more than 40 jobs bills out of the House of Representatives.
