Make Room for Turkey with Green Brook PBA's Annual 5K

The Fifth Annual Patanella’s Green Brook Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K event, benefiting the Green Brook PBA Local #398, will be held on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26.

The race will start at 8 a.m. at Green Brook Middle School, 132 Jefferson Ave. in Green Brook. There is limited registration at the school on race morning from 6 to 7 a.m., $30 for adults and $20 for kids under 12. Cash only.

Participants are invited to run, walk or bring the baby stroller.

The course is described as flat and fast with only a rise of 10 feet. Check out the course map HERE. The finish line is on the Green Brook Middle School Track.

This year’s 5K course includes Greenbrook Road between Rock Avenue and Washington Avenue as well as streets in between. As a result, note that Greenbrook Road will be closed between Rock Avenue and Washington Avenue from 8 to 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.

The race is lead by local officers in a Green Brook police car.

Participants are encouraged to bring a non perishable food item for donation to the local food bank.

There will be after race refreshments and a DJ.

Schedule

• 6 to 7 a.m. - Race day registration/package pick up (No t-shirts available with Race Day Registration)
• 8 a.m.: 5K runners start
• 8:05 a.m.: 5K Running with strollers. (no individual awards)
• 8:10 a.m.: Walkers start.

Awards will be given out to the top 3 overall male and female and top 3 in 5-year age group(no repeats).
