Man Broke Into Green Brook Home, Stole Jewelry And Gun: Police
A Plainfield man was arrested and found to be in possession of a safe, a handgun, and rounds of ammunition that were taken from the home.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — A Plainfield man was arrested and charged in connection with a home burglary in Green Brook.
On Friday, July 6 at around 12:30 p.m. officers from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Burglary Task Force responded to a home on Lillian Street in Green Brook Township to investigate a home burglary.
While at the scene, authorities saw Khiry Moody, 28, of Sumner Avenue in Plainfield leave the area in a motor vehicle. Officers stopped Moody's vehicle in the area of West 8th Street in South Plainfield where they found various items of jewelry belonging to the residents on Lillian Street on him, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Moody was arrested and a search of him and his vehicle found a safe, a handgun, and rounds of ammunition that were taken from the home, Robertson said.
Moody was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a firearm by certain persons, third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Moody was subsequently lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Multiple agencies helped with the arrest including: members of the Bound Brook Police Department, Warren Township Police Department, North Plainfield Police Department, Bridgewater Township Police Department, Bernards Township Police Department, Readington Township Police Department, Edison Police Department, Middlesex Borough Police Department and South Plainfield Police Department.
