Man Shoplifts Shopping Cart Full Of Food In Watchung: Police
The items in the cart were valued at $611.33 worth of unpaid store merchandise from Stop & Shop on Route 22 West, police report.

WATCHUNG, NJ — A Plainfield man was arrested for $611.33 worth of unpaid store merchandise from Stop & Shop on Route 22 West on Oct. 23 at 11:31 a.m.
Shelton Diggs, 40, of Plainfield was stopped by a Loss Prevention Associate after he was observed trying to leave the store after selecting multiple items of food and drinks and placing them in a shopping cart, police reported.
He was stopped in the store vestibule and fled on foot. Diggs was later seen walking in the parking lot of Petsmart and was arrested, police reported.

Diggs was released on a summonses with a court date.

On Oct. 23 at 3:29 p.m.: John McLoughlin, 65, of Hackensack was arrested for having 10 outstanding warrants out of Plainfield Municipal Court totaling $2,109. He was turned over to Plainfield Police Department.
On Oct. 24 at 11:43 p.m.: Stephanie Attaway, 38, of Oceanport was arrested for DUI Following a traffic stop on Stirling Road Circle. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released to her husband with a court date.
On Oct. 21 at 4:26 p.m.: Jimbrand Borras, 27, of North Plainfield was arrested at Walmart for shoplifting a bike mount and a power bank valued at $29.38. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released with a court date.
On Oct. 21 at 3:33 a.m.: Michael Ferry, 28, of Colonia was arrested for DWI, open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and careless driving following a motor vehicle stop on Terrill Road. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on summonses.
On Oct. 21 at 1:10 p.m.: Giselle Sanchez, 28, of Plainfield was arrested for having two active warrants out of South Plainfield for $300 and $600 following a motor vehicle stop on Somerset Street. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on her own recognizance.
On Oct. 19 at 5:49 p.m.: Janai Shepard, 23, of East Orange was arrested for having two warrants for $250 out of Livingston and $724 out of Bloomfield following an investigation to a disabled vehicle on Hillcrest Road. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released with a court date.
On Oct. 18 at 11:02 p.m.: Ali Nomani, 33, of Warren was arrested for DWI, tailgating, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane following a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Boulevard. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released with a court date.
On Oct. 14 at 2:22 p.m.: John Del Negro, 46, of Green Brook was stopped for shoplifting at Walmart. Walmart declined to charge Del Negro but he was found to have multiple outstanding warrants out of Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, $500 and $500 from Piscataway, $750 from Metuchen and $283 out of Plainfield. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and Middlesex County Sheriff's Department took custody of Del Negro.
On Oct. 15 at 5:34 p.m.: Kenyatta Johnson, 36, of Plainfield was arrested on multiple warrants out of Perth Amboy for $750 and $500 and Linden for $250 and $250. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and unable to post bail. He was released to Perth Amboy Police.
On Oct. 2 at 11:20 p.m.: Osarobo Akingbala, 47, of Union was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Terrill Road for having an outstanding warrant for $189 out of Union Township Municipal Court. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after posting full cash bail.
On Oct. 6 at 1:44 p.m.: Robert Gaines, 48, of Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting twp drones and a pair of scissors from Kohl's valued at $259.97. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on a summonses with a court date.
On Oct. 9 at 11 p.m.: Tremaine James, 25, of Piscataway was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on New Providence Road for having an outstanding warrant out of Union Township Municipal Court for $120. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and unable to post bail. He was released on his own recognizance by Union Police.
On Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.: Leon Golding, 49, of Scotch Plains was arrested at Plainfield Police Department on an active Watchung warrant for $500. He was transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.
On Oct. 5 at 8:42 p.m.: Samantha Hershey, 30, of Scotch Plains was arrested at Plainfield Police Department for having an multiple active warrants out Watchung Municipal Court for $500, West New York Municipal Court for $1,500, Clark Municipal Court for $500 and Weehawkin Municipal Court for $240. Hershey posted bail for Watchung, Clark and Weehawkin totaling $1,240. West New York released Hershey on her own recognizance.
