New York Woman Charged with Shoplifting at Kohl's

Watchung police investigate shoplifting reports.

Maria Saucedo, 31, of East Elmhurst, N.Y., was charged with shoplifting at 7:16 p.m. June 23, after police responded to a complaint by security personnel at the .

The store reported observing Saucedo placing items valued at $180 into a handbag. The store's security personnel stopped Saucedo as she attempted to exit the store, and reportedly recovered the merchandise.

She was taken to police headquarters, where the charge was filed. Saucedo was released after posting a $200 bond, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Police also investigated the following reports:

At 11:15 p.m. June 20, police charged Carly Michelson, 29, of North Plainfield, with shoplifting after personnel reported she shoplifted clothing valued at $16.48. She was released after posting $150 bond.

Andrew Straub, 28, of North Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting pantyhose valued at $43.97 from the Wal-Mart at about 11 p.m. June. 20. He ws released after posting a $150 bond.

Watchung police are investigating the reported theft of a Galaxy Note cell phone, valued at $599.99, from the AT&T wireless store at noon June 24.
