North Plainfield Local Wins $1M Lottery Jackpot

Ryan Seiler of North Plainfield purchased his Powerball tickets just minutes before the liquor store closed on Saturday night.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Ryan Seiler of North Plainfield is a casual lottery player and now the lucky winner of $1 million.

When the lottery jackpot grows as it did on Saturday to $260 million, Seiler will play the lottery more often. He stopped into the Milltown Buy-Rite Liquor, at 310 Ryders Lane, in Milltown in Middlesex County just minutes before the store closed and bought some Powerball tickets.

While at lunch with his girlfriend on Sunday, Seiler checked his tickets to find that he matched five out of the five white balls, winning the $1 million second-tier prize.

Seiler told his girlfriend who didn’t believe him at first and struggled not to shout out the news in the middle of the restaurant. He was so excited that he had trouble falling asleep those next few nights before claiming his prize.

With the prize money, Seiler plans to pay off any currents debts and invest for his future, as well as for his children’s college savings. He also plans to take a vacation somewhere warm, but hasn’t yet decided just where that will be.
