North Plainfield Varsity Basketball Player with Down Syndrome In Third Place for Most Inspirational Athlete

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Erick Dodd, a high school basketball player from a small town in New Jersey, is in the running to be named the nation’s Most Inspirational Athlete by USA Today and The National Guard.  Erick has Down syndrome and has to overcome adversity every day of his life, at least until he takes the court and his natural love of sports come out.

“We’re very excited that he’s passed two levels of the contest,” said his mother Sandra Dodd. “And we’re asking everyone to vote for Erick in this final round.”
