Oxycodone Pills Seized In Somerset County

A Florida man was arrested in Bound Brook yesterday for the alleged distribution of narcotics in a convenience store parking lot.

According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office:

Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Timothy Fitzgerald and Bound Brook Chief of Police Michael Jannone, announce the arrest of Rosendo Rafael Delgado, age 30, of Key Largo, Florida.

Prosecutor Soriano states that on September 18, 2014 detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force were conducting surveillance of a convenience store parking lot located on West Union Avenue in Bound Brook.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. the surveillance team observed defendant Delgado operating a Lexus IS 250. Subsequent to parking his vehicle in the parking lot, a female entered the passenger side door and spoke briefly with the defendant.

Once the female exited the vehicle and departed the area detectives approached defendant Delgado for questioning. After being advised of the ongoing narcotics investigation defendant Delgado voluntarily gave permission to detectives to search his vehicle.

The search resulted in the seizure of 58 oxycodone pills located in a rear compartment of the front passenger seat. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident and he was found to have $332.00 in U.S. currency in his pants pocket.

The oxycodone pills have an estimated street value of $1,740.00.

Defendant Delgado was charged with Possession of CDS with the Intent to Distribute, 3nd Degree and Distribution of CDS, 3rd Degree.

Defendant Delagado was lodged in the Somerset County Jail.
