Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Hit On Rt. 22

Arias Ramirez, 22, from Plainfield remains in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in North Plainfield early Sunday morning.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — A pedestrian remains hospitalized after being hit by vehicle early Sunday morning on Route 22 East in North Plainfield, Chief William Parenti said.

The victim is identified as Arias Ramirez, 22, from Plainfield.

Ramirez was hit by a silver 2005 Mercury on Route 22 East by Watchung Avenue on Sunday around 2:30 a.m. and transported to University Hospital in Newark. Ramirez remains in critical condition, according to Parenti.

The driver was not injured and there were no charges issued at this time, according to Parenti.
