Plainfield Man Pretended to be His Brother to Avoid Traffic Tickets, Cops Say
19-year-old's true identity revealed when the two appear in court at the same time.

A Plainfield man who pretended to be his brother during a motor vehicle stop had his true identity revealed when the two showed up in court at the same time earlier this month, Watchung Police said.
Sherif Doghem, 19, was charged with obstruction and motor vehicle violations.
According to Acting Chief Joe Cina, Doghem was issued two tickets on May 24 and identified himself as Moataz Doghem, his brother and registered owner of the car.
Moataz Doghem appeared in court on Sept. 4 for the tickets, but the officer realized he was not the person he had stopped, Cina said. Sherif Doghem was also in court that day for an unrelated issue and the officer identified him as the person driving the vehicle in May, Cina said. Sherif Doghem was issued additional tickets after he was seen driving the vehicle again on Sept. 4, Cina said.
