Police Investigate Somerset County Bank Robbery

Manville Borough Police continue to investigate a bank robbery that took place at the Federal Credit Union.

Manville Borough Police continue to investigate a bank robbery that took place at the Federal Credit Union located on South Main Street on Wednesday.

Police say they responded to a reported robbery around 1:41 p.m. alongside the Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigations and Forensics Unit, and Federal Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Franklin Field Office.

Its reported that two masked suspects walked into the front door of the credit union around 1:38 p.m. – one of them jumped over the counter and announce the robbery as he robbed the teller for an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second suspect acted as a lookout. They did not brandish any weapons and no injuries were reported.

The suspects were described as:

  • Medium height and build
  • Male
  • Wearing dark clothing (hoodies, ski-masks)

Both suspects then fled on foot out the front door, crossing over South Main Street and continued to run onto South Street – they may have fled the area in a vehicle that was parked on South Street.
