Watchung Stores Hit By Alleged Shoplifters
Watchung Police investigate several reports of thefts from stores.
Editor's note: One person's name has been removed from this report, as the charges against them have been expunged.
[Name removed] of North Plainfield was charged with shoplifting at 8:47 p.m. May 15 after she attempted to return two lamps and an air conditioner filter, valued at $65.38, at the store.
She was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Warren Pender, 51, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting at 7:28 p.m. May 11, after he allegedly took bathroom fixtures, valued at $144.06, from the Home Depot. He was turned over the Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $150, after the charge was filed.

Eleanor Bayley, 52, of East Orange, was charged with shoplifting $42.19 of merchandise from the at 4:24 p.m. May 12. He was released after posting a $50 bond.
