Watchung police are investigating two reported thefts, which occurred as the victims were shopping.
A North Plainfield resident reported someone took her purse as she was shopping at Toys 'R' Us between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. May 27, according to police. The victim said he rpurse and its contents were valued about $525.
On May 28, a Fanwood resident reported the theft of his wallet as he was in the store between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. The wallet and contents were valued at $325.

Police are also investigating the theft of a box of diapers, valued at $16.99, taken from a shopping cart at Toys 'R' Us between 5:15 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. May 27.
