ShopRite Reports Fake $100 Bill Passed

The manager of the Watchung  reported at 9:15 a.m. May 8 that the store had received a counterfeit $100 bill.

Police are investigating the incident.

Other ongoing investigations include:

• A report by a Roselle Park resident of a stolen purse, taken soemtime between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 10, after she left it at the on Route 22. The victim estimated the value of her purse and contents to be $80.
• Police are also investigating the reported theft of a wallet from a Plainfield resident, who said someone took his wallet, valued at $57, as he was shopping in several stores at the Watchung Square Mall sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. May 9. The victim wasn't certain if the wallet was lost or taken while he was inside a store or in the parking lot.
