Somerset County School Confirms First Case Of Enterovirus EV-D68

Dr. Daniel Gallagher, Superintendent for the Bound Brook School District, confirmed the first case of Enterovirus EV-D68 at Bound Brook High School in a letter sent home to parents last week.

“The district administration and maintenance department is working directly with our school physician and the health department to ensure that all proper protocols are being followed in regards to the safety of our staff and students,” Dr. Gallagher said in the letter.

He Added, “This includes, but is not limited to, the thorough cleaning of our building to ensure that it is safe for all staff and students when they return to school on Monday.”

This marks the first case of Enterovirus EV-D68 reported in Somerset County this year.
